Sinking in quicksand, Spider-Man snags an overhead branch with a web line but the branch breaks and falls, jamming his web shooters. Before Spidey goes under, Ka-Zar swings down, grabs him, and pulls him free. Elsewhere, Kraven tells Gwen that he vowed to wrest the Savage Land from Ka-Zar, discovering a crashed alien craft upon his arrival, with a tiny alien creature inside. The creature grew to immense proportions, so Kraven named him Gog, after the Biblical giant. Ka-Zar and Spidey arrive overhead in a tree, and begin their rescue plan. As Spidey distracts Gog drawing him deeper into the jungle, Ka-Zar battles Kraven. Realizing he is outclassed, Kraven resorts to tricks, and tosses a noose around Ka-Zar’s neck in an attempt to hang him. Ka-Zar turns the tables, knocking Kraven over a cliff. Spidey eventually leads Gog into the quicksand. As the giant sinks out of sight, Spider-Man feels ill rather than triumphant. Ka-Zar brings Gwen back to J. Jonah Jameson and Calkin, who rejoice that she is all right, but sadly inform her Peter Parker was thrown to his death. Soon after, Peter appears claiming that the trees broke his fall, leaving him unconscious until now. Reunited, they all make their way out of the Savage Land under Ka-Zar’s watchful eye.
