  • Spider-Man foils a gang of thugs’ attempt to rob a skyscraper using laser weapons, but fails to learn their boss’ identity when one of the thugs dies while trying to say the boss’ name. Meanwhile, the Jackal forms an alliance with Hammerhead. Later, Spidey awakens the Human Torch at the Baxter Building to pick up the completed Spider-Mobile. Spidey’s test drive is all over the road and sidewalk since the wallcrawler never took driving lessons. Dr. Octopus watches the shenanigans from an alley. Three days later, the thugs try for the skyscraper again, but Spidey takes them down using the Spider-Mobile. Their boss fi nally reveals himself: Hammerhead, who, faster than ever, head-butts Spidey from behind, knocking him out. Awakening, Spidey reclaims his car from the police and drives off, snagging an envelope he fi nds that the Jackal planted. Peter attends Betty Brant & Ned Leeds’ Christmas party, only then examining the envelope. Shocked by its contents, he rushes up to Westchester in time to find Aunt May is marrying Doc Ock!

Hammerhead’s power play was footnoted as ASM #213 rather than #113.
