The Punisher believes Spider-Man is Tarantula’s ally and Tarantula plays along, hoping Punisher will kill the web-slinger. Spidey recovers sufficiently to fi ght back, during which Tarantula and his men escape by helicopter with the ship’s valuables. Realizing his mistake, Punisher offers to meet Spidey later and departs. The passengers, believing Spidey’s guilt, force him to dive overboard, where Peter Parker turns up claiming he was shoved off the boat. Later, as Peter showers at home, Harry fi nds his Spidey costume, cementing his suspicions. Spidey meets the Punisher and learns the Tarantula was a South American revolutionary expelled by his comrades due to his love of killing, then recruited by the government to become the Captain America of his repressive country. Spidey and Punisher attack Tarantula at his hideout. While Punisher tackles Hidalgo and Juan, Tarantula escapes into Central Park but Spidey follows and defeats him. Meanwhile, Harry enters one of the Green Goblin’s secret lairs with vengeance on his mind.
