Spider-Man stops Punisher from shooting at Hitman’s helicopter, using a spider-tracer instead. While the Bugle staff calms Marla Madison, Punisher and Spidey follow the tracer in his battle van to a farm guarded by two PLF members. Elsewhere, Harry attacks Dr. Hamilton. After the struggle, one shadowy figure rises, proclaiming that the Green Goblin lives again. At the farm, Spidey and Punisher capture the guards and press them for information. The Hitman and PLF take Jonah to the Statue of Liberty, eliminating the guards. Punisher and Spidey follow in the two-man helicopter. Seeing things going awry, Hitman decides to leave, killing the PLF leader when he objects. Confronted on Miss Liberty’s head, Hitman uses Jonah as a bargaining chip but ends up falling with him. Spidey, reinjuring his arm, grabs Jonah. He and Hitman dangle from the statue’s crown. Only able to save one, Punisher chooses Spidey. Saying the life Punisher owed him didn’t have to be his own, Hitman accepts the decision, falling to his death.
