The Green Goblin promises to deliver Spider-Man dead or alive to cement his underworld takeover, disrupting Silvermane’s plans. After the Goblin leaves, Spider-Man is found in the vent and tangles with the criminals, allowing Silvermane to escape. At the hospital, Aunt May’s condition worsens. Mary Jane searches for Peter to give his consent for surgery. The Goblin returns to his lair to taunt his captive, while Peter goes home to try and study. Unable to focus, he decides to hunt for the Goblin and Silvermane again, just as Mary Jane calls him from the Bugle. Spidey hurries to the hospital but the Goblin ambushes him, nabbing him in a strong “ghost net” and carting him away.
