Spidey saves a guy trapped on a ledge during a fi re, unaware the man is secretly the Chameleon. Peter visits Aunt May in the hospital and learns her Medicare runs out next month. Betty visits Pete at home, telling him Robbie hired her as his secretary. They talk through the night. Later, District Attorney Tower informs Spidey that all charges against him have been dropped. Spidey holds a press conference in Central Park. Suddenly an elderly woman reveals herself as the Chameleon and Spidey attacks, not knowing the Chameleon’s new control belt lets everyone else still see the villain as an old lady. The crowd turns on Spidey but he pursues the Chameleon, removes his control belt, and turns him over to the police. Flash Thompson leads the wary crowd to proclaim Spidey as a hero, carrying him off and giving him three cheers. Meanwhile a shadowy figure in Westchester watches the proceedings unfold.
