The Black Cat steals the police fi les on four criminals. The following day she “recruits” two of them: Bruno Granger and Boris Korpse. Peter visits May at the nursing home where the Burglar forces Rinehart to help him get rid of Peter. That evening, Spidey spots the Black Cat and follows her to Emil Graco (the third criminal on file) where she is picking up a gun shipment. She eludes Spidey by lifting his mask, kissing him, and running off before he regains his composure. Peter learns that May’s condition has worsened. He meets Ned who tells him to stay away from Betty. Peter pushes him angrily aside. Hearing a news report mentioning the stolen fi les, Pete rushes out to see the fourth criminal, Walter Hardy, an incarcerated, terminally ill ex-cat burglar. He ignores Globe reporter April Maye on his way, leaving a bad first impression. At the prison, Spidey finds the Cat, Korpse and Granger freeing Walter Hardy. Korpse’s explosive levels the prison wall, trapping Spidey in the debris.
