Using the subliminal recall-inducer, Hawkeye recalls the numeric code he needs to activate the Visi-Projector so he can locate his teammates. He is attacked by the Beetle moments later, but subdues the villain and departs after using the Visi-Projector to learn where his teammates have gone. While he borrows an Aero-Sub from the Fantastic Four to go after them, he notices the tides have begun to rise dramatically because of Attuma’s Tidal Expander machine. Attuma continues to battle the other Avengers, but Quicksilver unwillingly departs when he is shot out through an ejector tube. Hawkeye rescues him, and they pilot their sub in pursuit of Attuma, evading a giant octopus and Attuma’s scout ships. By now, Attuma has subdued Captain America and Scarlet Witch again, but Cap tricks him into revealing the location of his tidal machine. Quicksilver and Hawkeye come to the rescue, and before long all four Avengers are battling Attuma and his troops. The quartet soon escape in their Aero-Sub and Attuma tries to crush it using his tidal machine, but Cap has sabotaged the controls, destroying both the tidal machine and Attuma’s command ship instead. Returning home, the Avengers find the Beetle has vanished, and there is a new message regarding the Wasp.
