The Green Goblin has modified his transport into the goblin glider and is ready for revenge on Spider-Man. At school, Peter finds that Flash has set up a Spider-Man Fan Club and intends to hold a charity dinner with Spider-Man in attendance. Peter realizes he will have to attend. Aunt May again tries to set Peter up with Mary Jane Watson, but this time Mary Jane has a cold. The Spider-Man Fan Club meeting attracts Jameson, the Human Torch, his girlfriend Doris and, unfortunately, the Green Goblin. Spider-Man and the Goblin clash while the Torch offers his assistance. However, when Spider-Man overhears that Aunt May has been sent to the hospital, he flees the battle. The Goblin escapes the Torch. Jameson puts out an extra calling Spider-Man a coward and everyone believes it while Peter chides himself for being Spider-Man when Aunt May needed him.
