As he falls, Spidey grabs Wino Charlie, uses Mrs. Schwartz’ waterbed to shield them and deposits Charlie safely in an alley. Charlie sleeps through the whole ordeal. The insurance company puts the apartment residents up at the Plaza. Pete finds himself next door to a screeching country singer. His gorgeous neighbor stops by and cuddles up to him. At Ryker’s Island, the Wizard and his ally spring Trapster and Sandman, while observed by an Atlantean who reports to the Sub-Mariner. Later, Namor smashes through the Plaza’s wall to confront Pete’s gorgeous neighbor. Spidey intervenes. Namor insists the woman is not what she seems but Spidey whisks her away. Outside, the two battle until the Frightful Four confront them; the shadowy figure revealing herself as Llyra, murderer of Namor’s Lady Dorma. The Wizard shoots them with his revamped spider-sense tracer gun infl icting great pain and promises that his weapon’s further effects are more interesting than simply killing them.
