An unknown figure approaches a Brand factory, snaps the lock and enters the building by passing through the door itself. Inside, he transforms into Will O’ The Wisp, and causes an explosion before escaping. At the Bugle, Peter Parker and Ben Urich look over the Tarantula Nose Norton-Brand private eye photos, but they don’t reveal who shot fi rst. Amy Powell tries to attract Peter’s interest but he breezes right past her. At Brand, the Tarantula, his ribs cracked from the battle, is treated by a doctor who tells him he can have Spider-Man’s power. At ESU, Roger Hochberg tells Pete of a Brand internship. He makes an appointment to infi ltrate the complex, fi nds James Melvin, Brand’s president and follows him as Spidey to a lab where Tarantula is being chemically enhanced. Spidey reveals himself. Just then Wisp arrives to destroy the lab. When Melvin attacks him with a magno-pulser gun after Spidey confronts him, Wisp thinks Spidey is allied with Brand. As they struggle, Tarantula emerges from his treatment, transformed into a giant human-like spider.
Killer Shrike kidnaps Marla Madison. Spidey battles Shrike and Brand army. Wisp blows up Brand factory (PPSSM #57, ’82).
