Adrian Toomes is living in a Southwest retirement community but gets agitated when he sees his old business partner, Gregory Bestman, is attending an electronic trade show in New York. Enraged, Toomes books a fl ight for the next day. Peter wakes from a nightmare involving recent events with Hobgoblin, Doc Ock, Gladiator, and Black Cat. He slips out his skylight as Spidey even as Amy Powell comes to visit. High above the city, Peter visits Aunt May and Nathan, who is watching TV and sees a news report of the Vulture attacking the High Tech Expo. Pete ducks out and, as Spidey, confronts the Vulture who is trashing the place to get at Bestman. Spidey is badly shocked by a lightning machine as the Vulture abducts Bestman. He tries to hang on to the Vulture’s foot, then Bestman’s foot, but each kicks him away and he lands hard as the Vulture escapes.
