Peter attends Liz and Harry’s housewarming party in New Jersey. However, festivities are cut short when Harry takes off and Peter follows to check on him. He learns someone is blackmailing Harry with information about his father’s Green Goblin identity. Meanwhile, J. Jonah Jameson finds himself blackmailed concerning the Scorpion’s creation, which he confesses to his fiancée Marla. The next day, all the blackmail victims converge at the Century Club where they learn Hobgoblin is alive and behind it all. Spider-Man crashes the meeting. However, Hobby has recreated Norman’s gas that removes Spidey’s spider-sense allowing him to defeat the web-slinger. Spidey tries to plant a spider-tracer on Hobby, but passes out. However, the Kingpin, a club member, saves him and urges Hobby to depart. When Spidey revives, the Kingpin tells him he placed the tracer on Hobby’s glider, hoping to eliminate a potential rival. Unfortunately, Spidey is unable to track the tracer without his spider-sense.
