  • The ungrateful Century Club members attack Spider-Man. Quickly ducking out, Spidey changes into Peter to meet up with Harry in the crowd. The guilty club members decide to cover up the day’s events. Meanwhile, Hobby fi nds the tracer on his glider while he ponders what other secrets Osborn had about Spidey in his journals. Later, Spidey sets out interro-gating the various men being blackmailed hoping for a lead but gets stonewalled each time. During his hunt, Spidey comes to learn that his spider-sense isn’t gone, just that he can’t hear it, and that Jonah was behind the Scorpion’s creation. Spidey tells JJJ not to publish the confession he is writing, then returns home and digs out his old tracer receiver, using it to fi nd Hobby’s lair. During their ensuing fi ght, Hobby accidentally sets fi re to the journals with laser cannons, tries to stop them with a pumpkin bomb, and blows up his warehouse in the process. Meanwhile, Jonah hands his confession to a copyboy for print.

Spidey is defeated by Hobgoblin and saved by Kingpin (ASM #249, ’84). Peter creates his tracer receiver (ASM #17, ’64).

“Roderick” accidentally calls Stephanie “Sheila” here because he is actually Daniel impersonating his brother.
