Spider-Man and Hobgoblin survive the warehouse. Distraught over the loss of the Osborn journals, Hobby hits Spidey over the head and escapes in his battle van as the building begins to collapse. Spidey manages to cling to the bottom of the van and work his way inside. With the van on self-drive, Hobby and Spidey fi ght in the cramped quarters as Spidey’s spider-sense returns. The van careens off a pier into the Hudson River, and Spidey tries to save them both, but Hobby refuses to be taken. Spidey barely escapes the van’s self-destruct explosion, and, upon searching for Hobby, finds only his mask. The next day, Spidey heads to the Bugle to tell Jonah the good news, only to discover Jonah’s confession out in that morning’s paper. Robbie is now editor-in-chief. Later, Peter and Harry meet for lunch. Peter assures Harry that the Hobgoblin no longer has a hold over him. After they part company, Peter’s spider-sense blares. He follows it to an immense gateway in the middle of Central Park. Compelled to enter it, he is transported to a distant galaxy.
