The Scorpion escapes from prison and sets out for revenge on Spider-Man and Jameson. At the Bugle, Ned Leeds has returned from Europe and resumed his relationship with Betty. The Scorpion finally comes after Jameson at the Daily Bugle but Spider-Man defends him, defeats the Scorpion and turns him over to the police. Betty is temporarily flustered by the fight and takes time off to recuperate. Meanwhile, Aunt May faints, her health deteriorating, but she decides not to tell Peter.
