Kraven, determined to defeat Spider-Man and place his mask in his trophy room, travels from Africa to New York. Betty Brant, who knows Peter has a secret, dreams he reveals himself as Spider-Man. Peter visits Aunt May in the hospital before going to school where he is confronted by Harry Osborn who accuses him of snubbing everyone. Kraven returns to the Chameleon’s hideout. Later, disguised as Spider-Man, Kraven attacks J. J. Jonah Jameson causing the real Spider-Man to search for the impostor. Spider-Man and Kraven battle as “Nails” Hogan and his gang try to capture Spider-Man themselves. Spider-Man defeats Kraven, Hogan and his gang. Kraven honorably confesses to impersonating Spider-Man. As Aunt May, now out of the hospital, talks with Anna Watson, Peter wonders if he should reveal his secret to Betty or not. It may be too late, however. Betty has abruptly left her job at the Daily Bugle.
