The sorcerer Xandu seeks the missing half of the Wand of Watoomb, which is in Dr. Strange’s possession. He forcibly entrances two strong men from a bar making them impervious to pain and they break into Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum, seizing the Wand half. Spider-Man witnesses their escape and pursues them, eventually following them to Xandu. Although Xandu has repaired the Wand, Spider-Man first snatches it, then prevents Xandu from grasping it. Dr. Strange and Spider-Man join forces against Xandu and Dr. Strange is able to drain the Wand’s power. He causes Xandu to forget about the Wand and his ambitions for power, then parts ways with Spider-Man.
