Electro’s men break him out of a police paddy wagon but Spidey defeats him by dousing him with a fire hydrant. Spidey retrieves his camera and looks for more news photos to earn money for his impending marriage. Soon after, he stops three robbers and helps with a warehouse fire. Peter returns home to develop the photos as Mary Jane drops by before heading out, by limo, to a modeling gig. Their contrasting lifestyles begin to make Peter feel inadequate. At the Bugle, Peter sells his photos and receives a surprise party complete with a bonus, courtesy of Jonah coerced by Robbie, that Peter uses to pay for the engagement ring. He presents it to MJ, who has to run off to cancel a Willi Smith photo shoot scheduled on their wedding day. Peter’s doubts begin to grow. MJ also begins to experience doubt when a former lover, Bruce, delivers her a Ferrari with tickets to Paris in the glove box. At May’s house, Peter finds himself thinking about Gwen and his promise to always love her. MJ arrives. She and Peter tell May and Anna of their engagement. MJ then drives off with Bruce. Later, Willi Smith sends MJ a wedding gown. Peter asks Flash Thompson to be his best man, then almost breaks the engagement but MJ’s enthusiasm restrains him. At an informal Coffee Bean bachelor party, Harry and Flash talk him into sticking with it. MJ, meanwhile, has her own Uptown wild party, losing herself in her party girl persona. Things come to a head for Peter when he has a nightmare that Spidey’s villains come after MJ, prompting him to go to the Brooklyn Bridge with a picture of Gwen to ask her for guidance. Bruce arrives outside of MJ’s party, and she gets into his car. Sunday comes and both arrive at City Hall, deciding the marriage is what they really want. Bruce donates the Paris tickets and offers up his villa for their honeymoon. Two weeks later, they return home to begin the rest of their lives.
