In March 1932, High Evolutionary accelerates the evolution of a cow who becomes Bova, joining his other evolved creatures. Magnus, in Drew’s body, comes to warn the Evolutionary of Chthon but the Evolutionary doesn’t believe him. From beneath the mountain, Chthon chuckles.
The High Evolutionary catches a werewolf who turns out to be his neighbor Baron (Gregor) Russoff. Magnus, 6th century disciple and lover of Morgan Le Fay, renounces her when she and her Darkholders conjure the demon Chthon, whom they trap in Wundagore mountain when he proves too powerful. Magnus steals the Darkhold book, for which Morgan kills him. His spirit survives in Westminster Abbey. Sensing the Evolutionary’s work on Wundagore, he possesses the body of Jonathan Drew, the Evolutionary’s partner, to warn him.
