The Avengers are working out at their mansion, while Hercules sulks about his exile from Olympus. When Hercules turns to show off his skills to Hawkeye, he accidentally snaps Hawkeye’s bow, and then damages lab equipment that Hawkeye had set up. The other Avengers keep the two from brawling. Meanwhile, the Black Widow arrives at Colonel Ling’s secret base, pretending to offer American secrets to the military commander. Colonel Ling doesn’t believe her loyalty, and has her thrown into their greatest scientific weapon: the Pyschotron, a chamber that assaults your mind with your greatest fears. Back at Goliath’s home, Pym has Dragon Man’s petrified body sent to him for experimentation, but Diablo arrives and revives Dragon Man, ordering it to attack the Avengers. It knocks Goliath and Wasp unconscious, and as the other Avengers arrive, Diablo collapses the ceiling on the heroes. They survive, but Diablo and Dragon Man have flown off, taking their prisoners, Goliath and Wasp, with them.
