At Avengers Mansion, Hawkeye and Goliath lash out at one another, shaken by Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch’s betrayal. Deciding that their time is better spent searching for the missing Hercules, the three remaining Avengers follow the homing beacon in Hercules’ Aero-car. Meanwhile, in the Land of Shades, Hercules wrestles with an Erinnyes beast, before stumbling upon his fellow Olympians. After being told of Typhon’s part in their banishment, Zeus uses the last of his power to transport Hercules back to Olympus. Meanwhile Typhon sets out to conquer the Earth, first attacking a nearby US Navy destroyer. The Avengers arrive and assault him, but find themselves losing until Hercules arrives. Though he and Typhon are evenly matched in strength, the Greek god uses martial art techniques learned from Captain America to win, then casts Typhon’s axe into the Promethean Flame’s brazier, reigniting the flame and freeing the Olympians. Zeus has Typhon cast into the land of Hades and welcomes Hercules back among his kindred. Hercules decides to stay with his fellow gods, though he soon misses his Avengers teammates. The three remaining Avengers rededicate themselves to rescuing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch.
