Kraven recalls how he had been working for the Green Goblin during his last battle with Spider-Man (in ASM #34) and never received payment. Blaming the believed-dead Goblin for his capture, Kraven intends to take revenge on the Goblin’s “go-between,” Norman Osborn. Elsewhere, Norman visits Harry and Peter at their apartment before heading out of town. Peter and Harry decide to throw a send-off party for an Army-bound Flash. Gwen, Mary Jane, Betty, and Ned attend. Suddenly, Kraven bursts in and takes Harry hostage. Peter becomes Spider-Man and battles Kraven at a construction site. Hearing of trouble, Norman races back to town and is snatched by Kraven. However, Norman has no memory of the Goblin. Kraven senses Norman is sincere, releases him, and escapes.
