Guests show up at Avengers Mansion for the wedding of Yellowjacket and the Wasp. Some, like Captain America, are concerned about the mysterious groom. The Circus of Crime sneak into the mansion disguised as caterers and plant traps to destroy the gathered super heroes. After the ceremony, Hawkeye walks in on the villains, who subdue him. As Jan cuts her wedding cake, Princess Python’s snake emerges from it and strikes, but the Avengers vanquish the python; later, after the guests leave, the Circus of Crime attacks. The stress of seeing Jan in danger causes Yellowjacket to grow to giant size, revealing his true identity of Goliath, and he joins his teammates in defeating the villains. Goliath explains his temporary insanity and the newlyweds are free to enjoy their wedded bliss.

In the future, Rick Jones and the Kree Supreme Intelligence pluck Yellowjacket from a point in time just before the wedding ceremony to appear in AvFo #1-12, ’98-’99. An editorial note explains Thor’s absence as a result of his encounter with the Silver Surfer in SS #4, ’69, but chronological analysis has placed the thunder god in Thor #159, ’68 at this time. Janet Van Dyne becomes Janet Pym. The Gambonnos’ surname is misspelled “Gombonno.” The Wasp describes Hank’s bout of madness as schizophrenia, but his development of a new personality would more accurately be termed dissociative identity disorder.
