  • As the Avengers and the Black Knight attempt to stay warm in the ice following Ymir’s defeat, the Black Panther summons his personal aircraft and invites them to accompany him to Wakanda. However Wakandan guards, acting on the orders of the Panther’s friend and regent M’Baku, attack them until realizing their ruler is with the newcomers. Though he feigns happiness to relinquish rule of Wakanda back to the Panther, M’Baku secretly plots against him, and during a feast given for the new arrivals M’Baku drugs them. When the Black Panther awakes, he finds M’Baku garbed in the forbidden White Gorilla guise. Calling himself the Man-Ape, M’Baku informs the Panther of his plans to destroy the Black Panther shrine and the two fight a running battle into the Wakandan Control Center, where they grapple above the Center’s atomic furnace. When his blows nearly cause Man-Ape to fall into the fire, the Panther saves him, but his treacherous foe seizes the chance to stun the Panther with an electrical cable. As Man-Ape attempts to tumble the Panther shrine, the newly awakened Vision demolishes the wall of the Avengers’ nearby cell; instead of falling, the shrine breaks into an avalanche of rocks which bury Man-Ape.
