Pausing as he is about to strike a killing blow, the devolved Yellowjacket instead decides to take the unconscious Wasp to be his mate; he subsequently defends her from other devolved humans. After a prolonged battle, Sentry #459 forces Quicksilver and Rick Jones to retreat and captures Goliath, Vision and Scarlet Witch, taking them to the Kree citadel, where Ronan demonstrates the Evo-Rays to the captive Marvel. The captured Scarlet Witch and Vision admit their love for one another, before the Vision recants, insisting he is merely a copy of a living being. Quicksilver and Rick storm the citadel, stop the Evo-Rays and free their friends. Receiving word that the Skrulls have invaded the Kree’s galaxy, Ronan teleports away to help his people. The heroes flee as the returning Arctic ice reclaims the Citadel and buries the Sentry, to find that Yellowjacket and all other devolved beings have returned to normal. Feeling that he was nothing but deadweight in the battle against Ronan, Yellowjacket ends his leave of absence by formally resigning from the Avengers; the Wasp follows suit.
