A group of protesters under the control of the Lion God storms Avengers Mansion, ostensibly to force Black Panther to return to Wakanda. As the Avengers fend off the mob, the Lion God abducts the Panther and demands that he reveal the secrets of the Panther God. The Panther refuses to talk, so the Lion God returns with him to Avengers Mansion to slay the heroes in retribution. The Avengers fight the Lion God until Thor dispatches him with a lightning strike. Black Widow decides to leave the Avengers to return to Daredevil, and Black Panther, who had thought of leaving the team, decides to stay, unaware that the Lion God’s indestructible spirit is watching and plans to have a rematch as soon as his power recovers.
