While the Avengers continue to help Mantis investigate her mysterious past in Vietnam, she easily subdues a would-be mugger just before Nomad (formerly Captain America) appears, updating the team on his activities and telling them he intends to rejoin their ranks soon. Elsewhere, Rama-Tut and Kang continue to battle each other within a time vortex until Immortus transports them to his castle in Limbo. Proposing an alliance with Kang, Immortus imprisons Rama-Tut. Back in Vietnam, Hawkeye contacts Avengers Mansion, where Jarvis reports that Captain Marvel has not yet responded to their summons and that Scarlet Witch remains in secluded study with her witchcraft mentor Agatha Harkness. Mantis, sobered by the Swordsman’s death and her ongoing identity crisis, apologizes to Vision for trying to seduce him recently, but Vision wants no apology and admits he was flattered. While Libra secretly observes Mantis, Kang and Immortus plot to destroy the Avengers, and Kang uses Immortus’ time technology to recruit powerful pawns from the past, a Legion of the Unliving plucked from moments in time before their apparent deaths. Back on Earth, confused by his love for Wanda and his conflicting attraction to Mantis, Vision seeks romantic advice from Iron Man, who prefers not to get involved. Nearby, Mantis spots what seems to be a glowing green Swordsman and pursues him, but he disappears. Back in Limbo, feeling he no longer needs Immortus, Kang imprisons him alongside Rama-Tut. While Nomad departs to follow a lead regarding his Serpent Squad foes, Kang transports the Avengers and Mantis to the labyrinth beneath Immortus’ castle, then dispatches his Legion to kill the Avengers and bring him Mantis.
