  • Spider-Man, still amnesia-stricken, steals a sandwich from a penthouse party, then sleeps above a sign in Grand Central Station. In Forest Hills, May, worried sick about Peter, collapses. Anna calls for an ambulance. At City Hall, John Jameson, with Captain Stacy’s support, is cleared for not arresting Spider-Man. Soon after, though, J. J. Jonah Jameson offers the visiting Ka-Zar ten thousand dollars to defeat Spider-Man. Ka-Zar needs no money and doesn’t trust Jameson but listens. Meanwhile, Harry searches Peter’s bedroom for clues to his whereabouts, finds a spider-tracer, and concludes he’s been kidnapped by Spider-Man, who awakens later hearing of the “kidnapping” on a nearby radio. Seeking help, he finds John Jameson with Captain Stacy and reveals his loss of memory. Gwen enters and tearfully confronts Spider-Man over Peter’s disappearance. More confused than ever, Spider-Man departs. Elsewhere, Jonah convinces Ka-Zar to track Spider-Man and is shocked when the wall-crawler appears at the Daily Bugle admitting his memory loss. Pretending he knows his true identity, Jonah nearly convinces Spidey to unmask when Ka-Zar attacks. The fight leads to Central Park where Spider-Man gains the upper hand until mauled and plunged into the lake by Ka-Zar's sabertooth, Zabu. Ka-Zar rescues him, but Spider-Man is unmoving.
