Exulting in his newfound power as he takes the defeated Avengers captive atop his floating Sky-Island, Graviton is enraged when he discovers his would-be consort Raquel has assaulted his favorite, Judy. Graviton slaps Raquel and scorns her as a gold-digger, but their argument is interrupted when Judy’s husband Joe leads some of his fellow scientists in an armed rebellion against Graviton. The villain repels their attack easily and prepares to execute them, but Judy revives in time to beg for their lives. To please her, Graviton floats Joe and the other rebels gently down to Earth, sending Raquel along with them. Graviton propels his Sky-Island to Manhattan, sending the city into a panic while earthbound heroes like Daredevil try to maintain order. Despairing, Jarvis is toasting the lost Avengers when Black Panther and Thor appear offering help. As Graviton awaits the United Nations’ answer to his demands and gloats over the heroes he has pinned to a concrete slab, Thor attacks him, distracting the villain long enough for Iron Man to break free. By the time Graviton defeats his two foes, Black Panther has freed the other heroes, but Graviton traps them all in a force field. Belatedly realizing a desperate Judy has jumped off Sky-Island to her apparent doom, an enraged Graviton blames the Avengers but loses control of his powers, which collapse Sky-Island around him and compress it into a super-dense sphere as the heroes escape. After tossing the sphere into the Hudson River, the heroes return to Avengers Mansion, where their butler Jarvis reveals that he used one of the team’s Sky-Sleds to rescue Judy.
