As Thor and Vision fight Monolith, Bloodhawk’s madness overwhelms him and he swipes the totem from Teacher. Beast pursues Bloodhawk and retrieves the totem through battle. With Thor’s help, Beast returns the totem to its rightful spot atop Monolith’s head, which had served as an altar for the natives of Maura. Beast’s action immobilizes Monolith, whom Thor casts into space. Bloodhawk regains his sanity and when Beast offers to help him deal with his condition and introduce him to someone who can help (the X-Men’s Professor X), he accepts and returns with Teacher and the Avengers to Avengers Mansion. There, Stinger ambushes Iron Man and holds him captive with Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Wasp, Wonder Man and Yellowjacket, all of whom he intends to sell in a private auction. The team from Maura returns, but Stinger ambushes and stuns Vision and Beast; Thor tries to fight back, but Stinger turns invisible, sets his shock blast to its highest setting, and prepares to shoot Thor in the back. Having heard the battle, Bloodhawk leaves the Quinjet bay to assist his new friends, and selflessly intercepts the blast. Stinger tries to flee, but Beast has recovered and freed the other Avengers; they swiftly capture him, but Bloodhawk dies.
