While the Avengers return to the mansion, in Detroit scientist Earl Cowan steals the rebuilt Red Ronin. After Cap and Iron Man inform Jocasta that they will recommend her for Avengers membership, an overjoyed Jocasta tells the Vision her good news, but he remains preoccupied with his wife’s absence. Trying to be alone with her thoughts on an isolated New Jersey beach, Scarlet Witch is unexpectedly joined by Ms. Marvel, hoping to offer her friend advice. Wanda confesses that investigating her parentage and her brother’s impending fatherhood has made her consider having her own child, but that she has realized that for now she wants to be an Avenger. However, as they prepare to return to the mansion, Ms. Marvel suddenly collapses. Beast drags Wonder Man out on a double date, setting Simon up with his girlfriend’s pal, which proves disastrous when Wonder Man’s date brings her tear away son. Back in New Jersey, a hospital check-up reveals Ms. Marvel is three months pregnant.
Letters page includes a note explaining that Joe Conroy had been miscolored as a white man in Av #192, ’80. Cowan’s first name is given next issue. Despite their promises to make Jocasta an Avenger at the very next group meeting, Cap and Iron Man fail to live up to their good intentions, and she is not officially made an Avenger until Av #211, ’81, coincidentally just as Jocasta, feeling unloved and unaware of her new status, departs.
