  • The Avengers receive reports of strange weather phenomenon across the globe and separate to investigate the occurrences. Thor encounters Jocasta as he prepares to leave the mansion; realizing that she was accidentally overlooked during the Avengers alert, he assures her that she is a welcome part of the team. The Avengers head to different locations around the world, but at each spot, costumed villains calling themselves, the Weathermen, attack them. Meanwhile, Jocasta learns that the Samarobryn satellite network, which first detected the strange weather patterns, is named after a figure from one of Nostradmus’ prophecies. Becoming suspicious of the satellite, she travels to the space station and discovers the station’s computer system has gained sentience. The Weathermen are the space station’s crew, now turned into puppets by the Samarobryn computer system, to lead an attack on Earth. As Jocasta and Samarobryn battle, its control over the Weathermen is loosened, and Thor uses the moment to cast a volley of lightning at the space station. Samarobryn is overloaded and loses its sentience, defaulting to its original weather-monitoring program. Later, at the mansion, after the team apologizes to Jocasta for overlooking her, Captain America calls for a revision of the team roster.

Nostradamus writes his prophecies (1). A programmer feeds the weather monitoring computer info on Nostradamus and the Samarobryn (p).

The letter’s page contains a drawing of “Puzzle Man” by Marie Severin. The character is noted as the design of John Schlim, the winner of a contest in Marvel’s “Fun and Games” puzzle comic.
