  • When the Mechano-Marauder turns up at the mansion demanding the Avengers battle him, Iron Man goes out to deal with the nuisance, who grows increasingly irate as fi rst Wasp and then Cap and Thor arrive, all ignoring him. Berating his foe for wasting his obvious talents, Iron Man rips apart Mechano-Marauder’s armor, then hands him over to the police. Inside, Janet is downplaying the impact her divorce is having on her, while Iron Man worries about the missing Hank Pym. Meanwhile Pym reflects on recent events and accepts that he needs help; he tries calling Stark’s offi ces, but runs out of money for the payphone after being put on hold by an unwitting secretary. At the Avengers meeting Wasp puts herself forward for chairperson and is unanimously voted in. In a bar Hank is approached by his old foe Egghead who claims to have reformed; he wants to give his niece, Trish, an artifi cial arm to replace the one he cost her and convinces Hank to deliver it, but when she puts it on, Egghead uses it to take over her mind. To save Trish, Yellowjacket breaks into SAC to steal Adamantium resins for Egghead, but while inside he deliberately triggers an alarm to alert the Avengers. They intercept Yellowjacket and Trish escaping with the resins, but Egghead forces Yellowjacket to battle his former teammates. They overpower him, but when Yellowjacket tells them about Egghead, he finds that the villain has released Trish’s mind after altering her memories so she accuses Yellowjacket of controlling her. Without any contrary evidence, Yellowjacket is imprisoned.

The Avengers court-martial Yellowjacket, who sends a robot to fi ght them, hoping to prove himself by defeating it (Av #213, ’81). Jan tells Hank that she is divorcing him (Av #214, ’81).
