Compelled to abandon their individual activities, the Avengers gather at the site where Moondragon’s spaceship has landed. Boarding the unmanned vessel the heroes are whisked away to the planet Ba-Bani, where Moondragon and her father Drax greet them. Moondragon requests the Avengers’ aid against a rebel uprising that threatens the peace she has brought to Ba-Bani. Despite their misgivings about interfering in political affairs, the heroes quell the insurrection. Suspicious of Moondragon, the Avengers remain on Ba-Bani, and Captain America and Wasp discover that the rebels actually were peaceful inhabitants whom Moondragon mentally manipulated into fighting. Meanwhile, Iron Man realizes that Drax is under his daughter’s control and tries to reason with him. When Thor confronts Moondragon about her takeover of Ba-Bani, she tells him that Drax sent her spaceship to enlist the Avengers’ aid against her. After confessing to Thor that she staged the uprising to mollify the heroes, Moondragon enthralls the thunder god.
Moondragon arrives with Drax on the planet Ba-Bani and resolves to end the racial warfare waged by its inhabitants (p). Drax watches passively as the Avengers battle the Ba-Bani “rebels” (d, on video).
Squid is not to be confused with the villain introduced in PPSM #16, ’00. Wasp purchases a laced, red costume on Ba-Bani; she sheds this costume next issue because it does not shrink with her. The inkers are credited as “Embellishers Assembled.”
