Captain Marvel enters the rocket and fi nds the Wasp unconscious, stunned from the force of the rocket’s take off. As the Wasp awakens, Dr. Cather fires at Captain Marvel with a blaster, seemingly destroying her body, before reverting to his true form as a Dire Wraith. When the ship starts to quake violently, “Dr. Cather” returns to the controls and gets the ship under control. In Transia Quicksilver finds Bova receiving medical care from a local doctor, and learns it was Magneto who hurt her; Pietro swears vengeance. Back aboard the shuttle the Wasp threatens Cather, but he refuses to surrender, explaining he was fleeing the arrival of female sorcery Wraiths who have been exterminating male, pro-science Wraiths; additionally, his leaving the controls would result in the Ion-Drive rocket exploding, destroying Earth along with it. Captain Marvel, who survived Cather’s blast, overhears the situation and reports back to the other Avengers. The Vision and Starfox take a Quinjet into orbit, while Captain America checks on the other captured Wraiths, but finds them dead at the hands of their female rivals, and is attacked by General Bridges, who reveals “he” is also a Wraith; Cap defeats them with the arriving Scarlet Witch’s help. Meanwhile, the Vision and Starfox board the rocket; Starfox takes control of the craft, and the Cather Wraith commits suicide rather than return to Earth.
