Captain America returns to the Avengers and discusses Vision’s recent peculiar behavior with Captain Marvel. Vision retreats to a secret chamber beneath Avengers Mansion, where ISAAC encourages him to use a special command chair to take control of world affairs and create a utopia. As he ponders his course of action, Vision has a dream in which his human and mechanical selves vie with each other. Janet Van Dyne meets Baron Walther Theodoric and Paul Denning while on vacation in the Caribbean. She socializes with Denning, but soon suspects that he is an assassin out to kill Theodoric. Jan’s suspicions prove unfounded when she learns that Denning is the mercenary Paladin and Theodoric is the criminal Baron Brimstone. Together, Wasp and Paladin thwart Brimstone’s plan to rob a resort casino’s vault, then continue their romance.
Vision lies in a life-support tube in Avengers Mansion. His mind links with ISAAC’s memory capacity (Av #238, ’83).
Vision reinstates Captain America to active membership. For Cap’s test, Hercules impersonates an unspeaking robot that Cap dubs “Silent Cal,” a moniker once used for President Calvin Coolidge. Wasp wears a short-lived green and orange costume.
