After receiving Captain Marvel’s week-old message from the Skrull star-base, the Avengers and Firelord travel through sub-space toward the source of her transmission in a Titanian starship piloted by Starfox. The heroes are reunited with Captain Marvel, who tells her teammates that she’s allied herself with the Skrull General Zedrao to stop Nebula’s empire-conquering threat. The Avengers and the Skrulls warily agree to unite against the common foe. Aboard Sanctuary II, Nebula slays a Skrull governor and prepares for war against the Skrull armada.
Galactus destroys the Skrull throneworld (FF #257, ’83). The Skrull Empire is torn by civil war and Nebula conquers many Skrull worlds. She sends Captain Marvel to the Skrull star-base, where the Avenger transmits a message to Earth (Av #258, ’85). Captain Marvel deflects Nebula’s anti-matter torpedo and the Skrulls lay waste to their star-base to fool Nebula before warping away (p).
Wyatt Wingfoot and the Fantastic Four are houseguests at Avengers Mansion following the Baxter Building’s destruction in FF #279, ’85. Black Knight here adopts the atomic steed Beast brought back from Wundagore Mountain in Av #187, ’79.
