Wilson, an archeologist, tells the Kingpin of the newly discovered petrifi ed clay tablet, claiming whoever deciphers it will learn great secrets. The Kingpin defeats six sparring partners, fi ring them all for providing a poor workout, then plans the tablet theft from its current exhibit at ESU. There, Peter meets Randy Robertson and Josh who organizes a protest over post-exhibit plans to turn Exhibition Hall into alumni housing instead of low-rent dorms. Gwen sneaks up behind Pete, who thinks she is MJ, making Gwen jealous. The two visit Aunt May who brightens up at their love, while concealing her ill-health. At ESU, Peter refuses to join Josh’s protest even though he sympathizes with him. The protesters decide to take over the hall. News of the “riot” prompts both Joe Robertson and the Kingpin to come to campus. In the hall, Josh decides to steal the tablet to gain the administration’s attention. Outside, the Kingpin and his men set an explosion as a diversion, then break into the hall where they fire gas pellets at the tablet guards. Peter becomes Spidey and battles the Kingpin. Randy intervenes, jumping the Kingpin but is easily brushed aside. Spidey fells the Kingpin, who retaliates with his cane blaster, toppling a wall. While Spidey saves Randy, the Kingpin escapes with the tablet. The police arrest the protesters as accessories. Robbie vows to procure legal aid, as Spider-Man tails the fl eeing Kingpin.
