Namor attacks his fellow Avengers, seeking to prevent them hurting the Leviathan, even as it rampages along the Miami coastline. Captain Marvel eventually forces the creature back beneath the waves, followed by Namor. The Avengers return to Hydrobase, debating whether their focus should be on curing Marrina or on stopping her before countless lives are lost. Meanwhile, Kang is teleported to an amphitheater where he is confronted by thousands of individuals, human and alien, dressed in Kang armor. Back on Earth, the Avengers contact Henry Pym for assistance in concocting a cure for Marrina. At the same time, the US Navy is hunting the Atlantic for the beast; Namor tries to warn them off, and the Leviathan soon attacks and destroys the fl eet. When the Avengers arrive to help with the rescue effort, the Navy captain discovers the Leviathan’s identity and berates the Avengers for not doing more to stop the monster. Beneath the waves, Namor resolves to end Marrina’s rampage.
Namor marries Marrina (AFlt #40, ’86).
Unlike the Council of Kangs (Av #267-269, ’86), who were all divergent versions of Nathaniel Richards, the Cross-Time Kangs are individuals who slew Richards and stole his Kang identity, as clarified in Av Ann #21/6, ’92.
