  • The Captain joins the New Mutants in fighting demons near Times Square. After beating back the demons and deciding the New Mutants have things under control, Cap travels north to Connecticut to ask Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman’s assistance fighting the demonic invasion. In Olympia, the Eternals’ Queen Thena sends the Forgotten One to New York City to aid in slaying the monsters. Meanwhile, Nanny and Orphan-Maker raid the Richards household, stunning Reed and Sue and kidnapping Franklin Richards, but Franklin prevents them from killing his parents. Arriving as the Richards awake, the Captain agrees to help them pursue Franklin’s kidnappers. Aboard Nanny’s ship, Nanny realizes that their captive is Mr. Fantastic’s son, and prepares for the heroes’ arrival. The three heroes catch up with the ship, forcing it to land in a park, where they are joined by the Forgotten One, who helps them overcome Orphan-Maker and another of Nanny’s armored warriors; however, they are stunned to learn this new warrior is Franklin!

A bystander misidentifies Nanny’s ship as a UFO, then says “That book, Communion, was right!”, referencing Whitley Strieber’s 1987 novel “Communion.”
