Super-Nova lands in Chicago, his arrival detected by the hero Quasar, who investigates, reaching the city as Super-Nova carves a surrender demand intended for Nebula into the Sears Tower’s wall. Quasar’s attempts to stop Super-Nova prove fruitless. Alerted to the alien’s rampage, the West Coast Avengers head to Chicago as well. Meanwhile the Invisible Woman’s force fi eld protects the East Coast team from the explosion of Super-Nova’s ship, and using Mjolnir, Thor steers the force bubble back to Earth, eventually landing safely near Avengers Compound. In Chicago, after Wonder Man fails to subdue Super-Nova, Tigra tells Hawkeye that the East Coast team is en route. Hawkeye, unwilling to yield the spotlight to the East Coast team, gets Super-Nova’s attention with a fl are arrow and introduces himself as the Avengers’ leader. Super-Nova picks Hawkeye up and demands Nebula’s surrender. Hawkeye attempts to fast-talk Super-Nova, but soon realizes his brash actions may have cost him his life.
