  • Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman safely lower Avengers Island to the ocean’s surface as the column beneath it crumbles away. After they and the West Coast Avengers leave the scene, the Avengers arrive in an airship made of the morphed bodies of Lava Men. Realizing they can do little to improve Gilgamesh’s dire condition, Captain America, She-Hulk, Sub-Mariner and Thor take him to Sersi, who is distressed to see her presumably immortal fellow Eternal without a pulse or brain activity. She leads the Avengers to her race’s home of Olympia to seek help for Gilgamesh, unaware that other Eternals have detected a vague threat to their city. When the group arrives at the site of Olympia, all they see is a smoldering crater.

    The Uni-Mind departs earth (Av #248, ’84).
