In Avengers Mansion’s former sub-basement, the Falcon, Wasp, Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Dr. Pym review several recent attacks by costumed villains. Loki covertly watches the Avengers before resuming his disguise as the servant to the villainous conspiracy behind the Harker returns home from shopping to fi nd Nebula waiting for him. Meanwhile Pyro, the Blob, and Avalanche attack the Avengers in the Park above their HQ, but fi nd themselves outmatched, the battle dividing onlookers between support and denouncement of super heroes, until brawling breaks out, distracting the Avengers long enough for Pyro and Avalanche to escape. The confused Avengers are left standing amidst the rubble of Avengers Park, unaware that Loki watches with glee.
Part of “Acts of Vengeance.” Vision rejoins the East Coast team this issue, having announced his intent to do so in AWC #54, ’89. The sub-basement levels once attached to Avengers Mansion have been reactivated for use as a temporary HQ following Avengers Island’s sinking last issue. The Avengers’ monitors display Thor fighting Juggernaut (Thor #411, ’89), and Iron Man fighting Wrecker (IM #251, ’89).
