The Infinity Union’s energies transfer directly into Nebula after Spidey webs it, making her more powerful than Stranger. Unable to attack her physically or reason with her, the Avengers retreat into Stranger’s ship. Stranger takes advantage of her distraction to interrogate Gunthar on how she accomplished the feat. Frightened of Nebula, Gunthar explains and reveals the means to stop her. Meanwhile, Nebula attacks the Avengers with Stranger’s ship. Stranger telepathically explains his plan to them and reroutes her energies into himself, temporarily weakening her. Sersi removes the receiver and Nebula is returned to normal. However, Gunthar helps her escape once again and their ship speeds off. Stranger sends the Avengers home to get treatment for a wounded Starfox. Cap, feeling Spidey doesn’t really fit in well with the Avengers, gently rescinds his membership offer. Spidey happily accepts and swings off.
