Spider-Man shakes down two Maggia bookmakers to discover the location of Silvermane’s headquarters. There, Man-Mountain Marko is convinced his boss’ rejuvenation is a trick and challenges Silvermane. Connors uses the distraction to slip away. Entering the lab, Cicero realizes that a young Silvermane will deprive him of succeeding him as family leader. He convinces Marko that this young Silvermane is a police trick, then fl ees as Marko attacks his boss. However, the rejuvenated Silvermane bests him as he continues to grow younger still. Spider-Man arrives and Silvermane orders Marko to attack him but Spidey defeats him easily. Connors watches from the other room as the ever-younger Silvermane tackles Spidey, then rushes off to find his family. The stress finally overwhelms him and he changes into the Lizard, running into the hall and taking out a Maggia gunman. As Spidey and a now-teenage Silvermane fi ght, Cicero returns with his gunmen to kill them. Spidey quickly disarms them. Realizing that the de-aging process can’t be reversed, a panicked Silvermane runs from the room. By the time Spidey catches up to him, he fi nds only a pile of Silvermane’s clothes. He locates Martha and Billy Connors but not Curt, who has become so submerged into the Lizard that only the beast remains.
The formula boomerangs Silvermane back to middle age as explained in DD #123, ’75. Galby building named here.
