  • The Gatherers imprison the Vision in their citadel and introduce their newest recruit, the evil Vision of Earth-932. Proctor uses mind transfer technology to place Vision’s mind in Vision-932’s body and vice versa. During the process, he lets slip that his anti-Avengers vendetta revolves around Sersi, whom he refers to as his ex-wife. Later, Cassandra tells Vision that the Gatherers all come from alternate timelines where their Earths were destroyed by the Avengers, and that they intend to prevent that in this reality. Confused and troubled by her recent murder of Anskar, Sersi retreats to Wakanda, where a concerned Black Knight follows her. She admits to him that killing Anskar thrilled her, and she fears she is going mad. Back in Manhattan, the detectives investigating the murder of Sersi’s lover find trace evidence of unstable molecules, suggesting a super hero is involved. As Black Knight flies Sersi back to HQ, Proctor sends Vision-932 to infiltrate the Avengers, who are breaking up a scuffle between resident animals Karia and Lockjaw. The fight is interrupted when Black Knight’s Quinjet crash-lands due to Sersi having gone into an insanely violent rage. Her fellow Avengers and the Swordsman try to restrain her until Vision-932, posing as the real Vision, brutally subdues Sersi by phasing his hand through her skull. Moments later, Captain America finally returns from his long leave of absence.

The Swordsman continues to study his late counterpart’s life, thanks the Vision for his kindness, apologizes to Vision for his past misdeeds, and suffers another of his agonizing headaches. Crystal interrupts with a message for Vision who abruptly departs. Supposedly an urgent summons from Laura Lipton, the message leads Vision to her beach house, where a tearful “Laura” embraces and kisses him before changing shape to reveal it is Tabula posing as Laura. Tabula’s fellow Gatherers use this distraction to capture Vision (p).

Issue has a bronze foil embossed cover, designed by Pat Garrahy and drawn by Epting & Palmer; John Romita Sr. did the dimensional guides for the embossing, Steve Alexandrov created the mechanicals, and Chris Ebel handled its manufacturing.
