  • Quicksilver and Crystal return to find Avengers HQ wrecked, and a raving Black Knight departs in search of Sersi. As the police and the rest of the Avengers likewise hunt for Sersi, Black Knight finds her atop the Brooklyn Bridge, where she insists she is innocent but feels that everyone is against her. Sersi convinces the Knight of her innocence, and his mind starts mirroring hers ever more closely through the Gann Josin mind link as he feels her paranoia and resentment. Back at Avengers HQ’s ruins, Jarvis informs Quicksilver of Sersi’s nightmares about Proctor. At the Gatherers’ base, Proctor orders an impatient Jocasta to wait for his order before any further attacks on Sersi, and he tells his captive Watcher Ute of his plans to destroy this reality’s Sersi. The Avengers head to the Brooklyn Bridge to confront Black Knight and Sersi, now both fully gripped by Sersi’s violent madness. The insane duo overwhelm their fellow Avengers, but Crystal urges the Knight to resist, and his feelings for Crystal coupled with his sheer force of will enable him to finally break the Gann Josin mind link. He tries to reassure Sersi that he is still on her side, correctly observing that the Gatherers may be framing her, but she lashes out in a mad rage, destroying the Brooklyn Bridge and washing her fellow Avengers away. In the aftermath, Proctor approaches a remorseful Sersi and leads her away.

When Lt. DuBois tries to arrest Sersi for the murders of Delgado & MacNamara despite the Avengers and her fellow detective Clancy advising caution, Sersi goes into an insane rage and flies off, wrecking Avengers HQ with a violent energy discharge as she departs (p).
