Receiving word Bova is dying from her friend Fydor, Quicksilver rushes with Crystal to Bova’s cottage in Wundagore to be with her. Refusing to let her die, he and Crystal trek up the mountain to demand help from her creator, the High Evolutionary, and discover an Acolyte shrine set where his mother Magda was last seen alive, and maintained by the fallen Acolyte Neophyte. However Neophyte flees when two Animutants arrive. Back in Manhattan, Hercules tries to get Taylor to see him, but she continues to refuse. She hangs up and greets her new roommate, Augustine Jones, unaware Jones is more than she appears. Meanwhile, Black Widow catches Cap uncharacteristically falling during his workout, but he avoids the subject when she tries to discuss it. On Wundagore Mountain the Animutants attack Quicksilver and Crystal, and when they are overpowered, the HE personally intervenes. Watching the sky over the mountain light with fire, Fydor quietly gloats. In Avengers Mansion Marilla takes Luna away from a mirror through which Black Knight tried to send a brief help message to the Avengers.
