Arides reappears in the Himalayas. Noting the Inhumans’ Great Refuge is no longer there, he tracks down the closest signal: Crystal, interrupting Crystal and Quicksilver’s heart-to-heart over the future of their marriage. Arides knocks Quicksilver out and abducts Crystal, then, finding another Inhuman trace, Arides attacks Fantastic Force HQ and kidnaps Devlor as well. The Avengers meet up with Psi-Lord and track Arides to an abandoned Kree outpost near Cape Canaveral where he tries unsuccessfully to contact his homeworld. Deathcry informs Arides that the wars are over and the Kree are a protectorate of the Shi’ar, while Vision reveals Arides is nothing more than a being of pure energy. Disbelieving them both, Arides attempts to remove the regulator from his head and discovers he is energy. Still defiant, he takes off into space to find the homeworld, vowing to return if he finds they have lied to him.
